Tiago's music is undeniably influenced by a vibrant mix of cultural heritages, from Fado and traditional Brazilian rhythms, due to his birthplace in Portugal, to the sound of legendary Jazz pioneers, in which he immersed himself after moving to Amsterdam.
Once in Amsterdam, a young Tiago found himself without anything to do. That is when he received a gift that would change his future, a guitar. A couple hours later his fingers were bleeding from the random noises he played. One year later he started to receive guitar lessons at a local music school, which encouraged him to gradually dive into the local Jazz scene. Within a couple of months, he was already performing at the BIMhuis with the Young Talents Jazz Band.
After graduating from the conservatory and inspired by John Coltrane, Pat Martino, George Benson, João Bosco, Elis Regina and Pedro Jóia, Tiago tested himself by participating in some of the biggest music competitions in Europe today. He performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival, he was one of the finalists at the Bucharest International Jazz Competition 2020 and he won the UK Jazz Guitar Competition in 2020, among others.
Furthermore, using his Portuguese roots and playing his trusted Godin, Tiago brought a modern version of Fado to the Dutch TV competition “We Want More”, which he ended up winning as part of the duo FADOpelos2. This resulted in national fame in both The Netherlands and Portugal, where he played live on TV with the renowned Fado singer Mariza.
His current projects include FADOpelos2, CoolHaven Quintet, Trio Dos Anciões and the Amsterdam Big Band. Besides that, he also has his own Tiago Lageira TRIO, with which he is releasing his debut album “Maré Noturna”, featuring the giants Kiko Freitas on drums and Matheus Nicolaiewsky on bass.

Hermine Deurloo’s style on the chromatic harmonica is characterized as being rich, lyrical, and varied, combined with effortless fluency. Hermine studied saxophone at the Amsterdam Conservatory while, at the same time, teaching herself to play the harmonica. She’s recorded and performed all over the world and with musicians such as Steve Gadd, Jim Black, Han Bennink, Tony Scherr, Willem Breuker Kollektief, Candy Dulfer, Al Jarreau, and the Metropole Orchestra.

Hermine Deurloo and drum legend Steve Gadd, together with Tony Scherr and Kevin Hays, released “Riverbeast” (2019), a collection of tunes composed by Hermine, as well as other members of the group, performed together with Alain Clark as special guest. They’re on tour during 2020, together with pianist John Cowherd.

Her most recent recording before that, “Living Here” (2016) is with pianist and composer Rembrandt Frerichs, cellist Jörg Brinkmann and special guest on drums Jim Black, released by Zennez Records. This group did concerts in the Netherlands, Norway, Italy, Egypt, and Germany.

Previous albums include “Welling” (2015), which she recorded with jazz string quartet Zapp4, “Glass Fish” (2012), released by Challenge Records, and “Crazy Clock” (2005), recorded in New York with bass player/guitarist/vocalist Tony Scherr.

Hermine performed in films and commercials like recently for the Los Angeles based filmcomposer Austin Wintory, for a film of Amin Matalqua. She’s a guest solist on many CD’s and playes with a variety of groups, such as with Mathilde Santing and Ronald Snijders. Hermine has appeared on TV many times, in prime time programs such as “Pauw”, “De Wereld Draait Door” and “Jinek”. In 2011, Hermine was interviewed for the daily news item on RAI 3 in Italy.

In 2022/2023 Hermine is playing concerts with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, the Brussels Jazz Orchestra and pianist Gwilym Simcock and guitarist Mike Walker.
